As Black Friday approaches, let’s take a look at the fine print. The following article takes a dive into the world of holiday deals.
Best Buy: First up is Best Buy. Did you know that free shipping doesn’t include "laptops, netbooks, iPads, iPods, Dynex TVs, video game consoles, major appliances, compact refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, grills, outdoor furniture, pergolas, fitness equipment, and electric vehicles”? What else is there to order?
Staples: It turns out that Staples’ ad on having a camera shipped directly to your door actually means shipping directly to your neighborhood Staples.
Sears and JC Penney’s: You can get free shipping as long as you have the coupon code, in its entirety.
In conclusion, maybe free shipping isn’t all it’s built up to be.
Is it just me, or does it seem as though stores are no longer concern with customer satisfaction anymore? I recently heard that soon many stores are going to require customers to fill out extensive paperwork in order to return items and now I see these misleading claims. While I understand that the economy is bad and stores have to take measures to protect themselves this makes we want to avoid any store that is no longer concerned with helping their customers and being honest about discount and free shipping claims.
ReplyDeleteI am really concerned about the lack of activity on this blog. Katherine's ability to present information in a frank and straightforward way is something that is missing in the blogosphere these days. I understand this blog was a class assignment but I would really like Katherine to continue to post as I have really enjoyed reading what she has to say.
